I am playing around with both natural and artificial lighting here.. not 100% sure I like what I’ve done but wanted to get thoughts on how to improve it…

Not bad, but mixed lighting is always tough. i think there's a light source a bit too focussed on the middle. Maybe you need a screen to reflect it a bit.
Why don't you come to class next year? We had a few very interesting lessons on studio photography.
